This is a collection of fifty chromolithographs from the early 1800s. It is combined in a leather bound book with a title of “Album Francaise”. The images inside are a wide variety of subject matter. They feature iconic landmarks of France, historical events, or just daily life of pheasants and the upper class of Europe during this time period.
The images are very vibrant and saturated in color. Six of the images are signed by these artists: Hippolyte Robillard, Hippolyte Bellange, Achille Deveria, F Grenier, and Alexandre Marie Colin.
Images vary in size from 9” x 7” to 4 1/2” x 6 1/2”. There are a total of 50 images.
Book is 10” x 12” x 1 1/2” thick
Chromolithographs are in good condition. There is one with a slight tear. The book is in fair condition. The binding is well worn and the spine is torn. There is a lot of foxing on the empty pages and on some of the pages the lithographs are mounted on
