Experience the beauty of Russian folk art with our vintage wood Easter egg. Handmade and painted on cherry wood with intricate floral details with peacocks among the leaves in blues, yellows, and copper leaf, this hinged egg opens to reveal a triptych image of three angels. The triptych is a recreation of Andrei Rublev’s “Trinity”. Each section depicts an angel who visited Abraham in the Bible. In between them is a little shelf which has a cup painted on it with the head of the calf in it.
The egg also comes with a decorative matching stand. Both egg and stand are signed Natalya N Look-Burd and dated 1997. Adorn your home with this exquisite piece of carved art.
Egg is 3.5” dia x 6.5” tall
Stand 2 7/8” dia x 2 7/8” dia
This is in good condition. There is a spot on the outside of the egg on the edge of the opening where paint has been worn/chipped off. The hinges are rather loose. There is museum wax residue in the stand to keep the egg upright. Egg will stay upright on the stand but must be balanced just right.
