This is a Northern Plains Tribe, probably Lakota, beaded snake amulet from early 20th century.  Materials include  leather, blue, white and red glass beads, long metal crimped beads and stuffed with a fibrous material.  It is an umbilical cord animal fetish which would have been made for a specific baby.  His or her umbilical cord would have been saved and sewn into the body of the amulet and stayed with the child as protection during its entire lifetime.  This is an excellent addition to any Native American collection.

Snake is 1/2” dia x 11 1/2” long

This is one n good condition but the leather is worn and cracked on the bottom due to age.
