Beautiful Native American pottery vessel by Camille Bernal of the Taos Pueblo. Camille created this vessel by hand coiling natural clay. She then hand carved the insects and native plants so they are in relief on the face of the pot. Each element was additionally hand painted with mineral paints. The blue gray that is used in some of the beetles is a rare paint from the Laguna Pueblo. All in all it is just a stunning one of a kind piece of hand made pottery.
Camille graduated from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. She further studied with Shawn Tafoya of the Santa Clara Pueblo.
This piece of pottery measures 8” wide, 7” tall and 6” in depth.
It is in excellent condition.
