This antique Chinese red food box is handcarved and painted. The boxes were typically used to store food during the wedding ceremony or for wealthy families to bring food from room to room. This box has a removable lid and a brass lock. It has a carved flower pattern and a Chinese scene carved onto the lid that is difficult to see because of age and wear. It is signed by the maker on the bottom
The box is 10”x 11” x 12”tall
This is is good condition. It does have wear to the top of the lid and it looks like there were cracks in the wood on either side of the box that were repaired a long time ago
