Traditional Zulu beaded headbands were worn by Ndebele women to show their status, wealth and beauty. It dates at least to the 1930’s or earlier.
There are a few loose threads and possibly a couple of missing beads but it is hard to tell. Even though there are a few loose threads the beading all seems secure. In general I’d say it’s in very good condition for its age.
It is about 20 inches long.
