This hand carved and painted piece of folk art is from Mexico. It is a ceremonial mask of a devil or Diablo with a frog on his forehead. The eyes are painted glass.
The height of the mask is 8" from the chin to the top of the head and 11" from the chin to the top of the horns.
It is 7" wide from ear to ear and 10" wide from horn to horn.
When it is hung on the wall it sticks out 7" from the wall.
It is in good vintage condition. One of the horns is missing some black paint. The original string strap is broken so a wire was added to hang the mask on the wall.
